Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar (born April 24, 1973) is a former Indian international cricketer widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. He is the highest run-scorer of all time in international cricket.
Early Life
Born in Mumbai to Ramesh Tendulkar, a noted Marathi novelist, and Rajni Tendulkar, Sachin showed prodigious talent from a young age. He was coached by Ramakant Achrekar at Shardashram Vidyamandir and debuted for Mumbai at age 14.
International Career
Debut and Early Years
Tendulkar made his Test debut against Pakistan in Karachi on November 15, 1989, at the age of 16 years and 205 days. He scored his first Test century against England in 1990.
World Cup Glory
Tendulkar played in six Cricket World Cups and was instrumental in India's 2011 World Cup victory, finally winning the trophy in his sixth attempt.
