National Students’ Union of India

The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) is the student wing of the Indian National Congress, founded on April 9, 1971, by Indira Gandhi. It was established through the merger of the Kerala Students Union and the West Bengal State Chhatra Parishad, creating a unified national student organization.

The NSUI is described as the world's largest progressive student union, with a membership reportedly around 4 million and a presence in 15,000 colleges across India. Varun Choudhary currently serves as the National President of the NSUI. To join the NSUI, individuals must be under 27 years old, students, Indian citizens, not affiliated with other political groups, and have no criminal convictions.
