Template:Infobox settlement Sawai Madhopur is a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is the administrative headquarters of the Sawai Madhopur district. The city is famous for being the gateway to Ranthambore National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

History

The city was founded in 1763 by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I of Jaipur. It has a rich historical heritage with forts and temples.
