Gujarat is a notable tourist destination, offering diverse scenery from the Great Rann of Kutch to the hills of Saputara. It is also recognized as the birthplace of iconic figures of India's independence movement, including Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Historically, Gujarat was part of the Bombay State until its division in 1960, which led to the formation of both Maharashtra and Gujarat.
